What’s it like learning to drive in Bedford?

All of our driving instructors in Bedford have a professional understanding of the local area and test routes and will carefully choose which locations are best for you when finishing your driving lessons.

If you are taking your primary steps into the world of driving, to build up your skills and self-confidence, you might start your lessons on some of the more quiet roads in Putnoe, or Arlesey, Stotfold, Shefford, Henlow, Biggleswade & Sandy.

There are a number of excellent roads in Bedford and Kempston that are appropriate for your very first lessons, or, you may go out to the towns such as Clapham, Bromham, Cardington or Wootton to help you get used to the roads.

As your abilities develop, your instructor will continue to introduce you to new areas and will ensure you are comfortable and knowledgeable about the test paths as you approach the end of your lessons. This will consist of a few of the harder locations such as Cardington Cross roundabout or the one-way system around Bedford town centre.

Taking a driving test in Beford

Bedford test centre is now situated just beyond Bedford, on the road in between Shortstown and Cardington.

Due to its rural location, test routes include a mix of both rural roadways and urban roadways. Numerous test routes also use the A421 for some higher-speed driving.

Cardington Cross roundabout is pretty much ensured to feature in your test route, so this is someplace your instructor will make sure you’ve had lots of practice with during your driving lessons in Bedford.

Bedford Driving Test Centre

Bedfords driving test centre is located on Manton Lane in Bedford. Our instructor will ensure you have excellent knowledge of the test centre and its routes for your test day and get you there on time and ensure you are fully prepared.

What To Anticipate On The Day of your driving test?

All that’s left for you to do is ace the practical test and strike a perfect present with your test certificate. If you’re not feeling it just yet, keep in mind that your trainer wouldn’t allow you to take the practical if they weren’t sure you were fully prepared.

On the day of your test, you need to triple check that you have your provisional driving licence. If you forget it, you will not be enabled to take the test. You also won’t get a refund for the test cancellation, so be aware. Next, ensure you get to Cardington 10 minutes before your test is due to start. (Prevent getting there any earlier, or you’ll end up obstructing other learners taking their test.).
