Pre-requisites of driving lessons

You need to be 17 years old in order to drive on the roads. However there are particular age restrictions for specific vehicle types. The request for provisional driving license can be made to the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) when you are 15 years and 9 months of age but it is issued only after you turn 17 and 16 in case you want to drive moped or light squad bike. These requests can be made online, via post or also in persons, visit www.gov.uk to have a better understanding about the entire application process.

When taking your first driving lesson your instructor will need to do an eye sight test, for this your instructor will ask you to read a UK DVSA regulations license plate from a distance of 20 meters.
